Tax Season 2020 & The Coronavirus

EMERGENCY UPDATE — Monday, March 16 —

To Our Clients:

The health, safety and well-being of our clients and colleagues is foremost in our minds as we continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak. Our thoughts are with all of those who are impacted by the coronavirus and the health professionals working to care for them.

At the present time, our office is open for business as usual. In the event the outbreak should result in employee absences or office closure, we have contingency plans in place to work on a remote basis. By working remotely, we will continue to do our best to be responsive to your accounting and tax preparation needs throughout any potential shutdowns or quarantines that may be established in an effort to contain the outbreak, should that measure be required.

We will continue to monitor guidance from Internal Revenue Service and Congress, as it is quite possible that the April 15th filing deadline will be extended this year. Whether or not the payment deadline is extended (or provisions are added to except late payments from underpayment penalties and interest) are issues which we will monitor.

Given the infectious nature of COVID-19, we encourage you to use your Client Portals to deliver your tax records to us; alternatively you can email or mail them to us. In such a case, we will make ourselves available to speak with you to address any concerns or questions you have.

We hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy, and we wish everyone well as we collectively navigate this health challenge.

Very truly yours,
